Welcome to the overlook
We are a timeless wedding, event venue and gathering place for friends from near and far located in the town of Crystal Lakes, just outside of Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
Built in 1968, “The Clubhouse” served as a resort style pool and bath house for Crystal Lakes residents. Through the years, the clubhouse has seen many reiterations and now resides as The Overlook. A gathering place for life’s special moments. The venue is nestled into the valleys surrounding the East Fork Fishing River, overlooking an open grassy field with an old pine grove seen in the distance. This landscape, a jewel of Crystal Lakes, brings a feeling of modern nostalgia and provides a perfect home to create cherished memories.
We are an ideal place to host intimate weddings and elopements, retreats, showers, family gatherings, adult summer camps, etc.

The inspiration for our design grew from the foundation of what this clubhouse once was. Memories of a past time, when life was enjoyed a little slower and more simply.
The venue is down home. Nostalgic. Curated with a mixed of vintage and modern accommodations. The grounds are reminiscent of camping trips from childhood.
